Sometimes, they don't make it..

So one day at happy hour, where many bad ideas are born, the idea to race a REPU (rotary engine pick up) was brought up. Ben knew of one available, Shadd wanted to build another rotary, and Pat had three gin & tonics, what the heck? might as well.

It took a winter and was a labor of love.  Long cold nights in Shadd’s garage and slowly-  from a beer-and-gin-induced concept -- appeared – the Pu-REPU!

Pu REPU - Rest in Peace

Isn't it amazing how long it takes to build and how short a time to die, especially with a brand new rally driver. Yep, third stage of 2005 Doo-Wop . . ..

Sadly, the Pu-Repu wasn’t around long enough for many pictures. 

                                  RIP, old truck.

 

 

 

 

Later that same  year, we lost another one - the original and well-loved RX-7.  Though we had plans already to re-build over the winter, it was sad to bid farewell to the old girl who was the 'cause of it all'.
